Subnormal Europe

▸ 17/11 ▸ 20:00 ▸ Théâtre des Capucins ▸

Part-musical, part-recital, Subnormal Europe is the brainchild of digital artists and composers Óscar Escudero and Belenish Moreno-Gil. A singer and a sound engineer will be taking to the stage with a number of screens and loudspeakers to bring audiences a fascinating performance looking at audio-visual documentation. The production, which was presented at the Munich Biennale in 2020 on the occasion of the German presidency of the EU, questions the need to archive everything, from the first radio sounds to the latest fake news. Singer Noa Frenkel tells the story of this Cornelian task with her impressive voice in what is undoubtedly an innovative and exciting production.
