A safer way to get to school

With the start of the new school year fast approaching, the City is keen to encourage soft mobility choices and walking in particular in order to reduce traffic around schools and increase safety. Interested parents can also ask after the Pedibus service. As part of this project, chaperones will collect any children attending cycle 1.1 classes upwards from various locations in the Cents, Belair, Gare and Gasperich districts and take them to school on foot.
For their part, the police are keen to reiterate some important safety tips to keep in mind on the way to school. These include looking both ways before crossing the road and making yourself visible when walking. A flyer containing all their advice is also available.
