There is surely no one but Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker who could take on a behemoth like the Goldberg Variations to devise a dance piece. Since the beginning of her career, the Belgian choreographer has never stopped creating from the study of musical scores. Alone on the stage, only accompanied on the piano by Pavel Kolesnikov, she invents a score set to dance that continually evolves. The breathtaking complexity of this work is backed by such skill that it all seems simple and easy to the spectator, who is hypnotised by a creator making art at the highest level.
