Irish-American seven-piece Celtic punk band Flogging Molly started out in the mid-1990s as the house band for Molly Malone’s in Los Angeles.
Their music ranges from boisterous Celtic punk to more melancholy songs while their lyrics touch on subjects such as Ireland and its history, drinking, poverty, politics, love, death, and the Catholic Church.
They have developed a loyal following through constant touring and have become fundamental in the punk scene over the past 20-plus years.
The band also hosts a yearly Salty Dog cruise, and a St. Patrick’s Day festival in LA. Flogging Molly have released five independent live albums as well as seven studio albums, the latest of which, 2022’s Anthem, was described as a joyful, upbeat album that is a welcome break from the harsh, depressing world that punk can be.
