Miriam Rosner first worked in visual communication before founding MONOGRAM in 2019. This exhibition is inspired by author and musician David Berman’s The Coahoma County Wind Cults. Berman, from Williamsburg, Virginia, became a cult indie rock figure with his band Silver Jews before committing suicide in August 2019. Rosner uses the lyrics of this song to capture its own unique stream of consciousness incorporating bizarre meanings that evoke a ‘madcap universe’. The end effect is that, in this creative endeavour, the original artist may have disappeared, but his gorgeous words remain with us.
