Harvest at the Klouschtergaart

On 19 September, on the occasion of the annual grape harvest, the college of the mayor and aldermen visited the vineyards of the gardens of the former Neumünster Abbey located at the foot of the Bock promontory. On this 400-square-metre plot of land, which was restored by the City in 2004 as part of its partnership with the Landesgartenschau, the vines are cultivated according to old methods. Each vine is cultivated individually to produce Elbling, Rivaner, Pinot grapes, and so on. The 260kg of grapes harvested will produce approximately 200 litres of wine, which will be served at the City receptions or offered as a gift during official visits.
