Featuring one of the most iconic and important actresses of classical Hollywood cinema during the 1940s and 1950s, the Cinémathèque will be screening five Elizabeth Taylor films in July.

From the legendary queen in Cleopatra and the dysfunctional half of a whole in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Taylor inhabited a variety of roles. Playing the frustrated partner within a complicated family in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, one third of a fatal love triangle in A Place in the Sun, and a woman trying to uncover a murder in Suddenly, Last Summer, Taylor proves she is not unfamiliar with complex roles and intriguing dynamics around power, love and social expectations. Head over to the Cinémathèque to experience all of these stories and feelings vicariously!
