On the weekend of 20, 21 and 22 May the ‘Neighbours’ Day’ will take place in Luxembourg City. Its aim? To get to know the other residents of the neighbourhood. To encourage this cohesion between residents, the City is offering its help from a logistical point of view. People interested in organising such an event in their own neighbourhood can ask for some benches and tables to the Service Maintenance (Maintenance Department), which will pick up the material on 23 May. The Traffic Department can intervene to facilitate the smooth running of the party, notably by cutting off small roads, when possible.
For purposes of cleanliness, local residents can also obtain a waste bin for the duration of the weekend. They will also receive invitation cards, the brochure Manifestations écoresponsables, which aims to raise awareness of waste reduction and fair trade products, and information on other events of the City.
Please note that residents who wish to organise a Neighbours’ Day after the scheduled date and until 10 July can receive only undated invitation cards, within the limit of available stock.
