Good visibility

In winter, weather conditions or darkness in the morning and late afternoon can reduce visibility. For the safety of all road users, it is vital to be able to see and to be seen.

Pedestrians and children
• Wear light-coloured clothing or clothes with integrated reflective elements.
• Use bright or reflective objects/stickers.
• Wear a safety vest or armband.
• When walking on roads, use the edge of the road facing traffic and wear a safety vest if you are in a more rural area.
• Take into account the speed and distance of approaching vehicles.
• Make sure you are seen by motorists before crossing the road.
• Put a reflective collar on your dog.
• Be aware that you don’t have absolute priority at pedestrian crossings, so always make sure it is safe before stepping into the road.
