Bringing culture to the city centre

The Theaterpräisser and Danzpräis theatre and dance awards ceremony took place on 17 September. Awards were presented to Luxembourg artists in the following categories: the Rising Talent Award, the Best On Stage Performance, the Best Backstage Production, the National Theatre Award, and the National Dance Award. The latter is awarded to a choreographer or dancer for their outstanding talent. This year’s winner was Elisabeth Schilling.

On 9 October, the dancer performed during the night near the Lycée de Garçons in Limpertsberg, and used chalk spray as part of her performance.

Elisabeth Schilling has toured the world, from the United States to Chile, South Africa, India, Italy and Finland, finishing in the Luxembourg capital. Titled Invisible Dances, the choreography invites the public to discover art in a new and creative way, combining dance and visual art to transform streets and squares into stages. Schilling performs her dances during the night, so that locals awake finding a surprise of colour left behind.
