27/09-30/09, movies’ schedules and languages:

Although Napoleon Dynamite is sadly not included, this year’s selection does not fail to entertain, whether it be through sheer camp delight or steely, smouldering gazes.

Christina Schaffer’s choice is sci-fi fantasy Barbarella, which sees Jane Fonda as an astronaut of the 41st century tasked with stopping an evil scientist. Claude Conter settles on Unforgiven, where Clint Eastwood’s character – a widowed outlaw – leaves retirement for one last job. Julie Schroell picks Lars von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark, a musical melodrama set to bring tears to your eyes as single mother Selma’s life descends into chaos as she struggles to save money and her son’s eyesight. And finally, Pablo Chimienti serves up Shakespeare in Love, the romantic comedy behind Romeo and Juliet.
