Triennale at Rotondes and Casino

Rotondes and Casino Luxembourg — Forum d’art contemporain have joined forces to organise the fifth edition of the Triennale Jeune Création held throughout the summer. The first edition was held in 2007, when the Greater Region and Luxembourg were designated as the European Capital of Culture. “The event is a continuation of the Roundabout – Refreshing Art exhibition and provides a platform where emerging artists can make their work known to the public and to professionals in the industry. It also serves as a way for artists belonging to the same generation to share ideas,” explains Marc Scozzai, head of the visual arts programme at Rotondes. About 40 millennials selected from 113 applications and representing a diversity of backgrounds and styles will share their vision of a ‘Brave New World Order’ during an exhibition. “Every three years, we choose a curator to set the theme and select the artists. This year, Kevin Muhlen, director of Casino Luxembourg, is the curator of the exhibition.” These young artists, born between the beginning of the 1980s and the end of the 1990s, have grown up in a world where the Internet is the main source of information. They understand the consequences of the economic, ecological and political choices made by previous generations and are now trying to build the future. “These artists have been selected for the quality of their work and the relevance of their project.”
