Il y a flûte, flûte et flûte

▸ 19:00 ▸ Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg ▸

Dedicated to the flute, this concert features blend of genres juxtaposing stylishness, elements of surprise with good-old fashioned entertainment. Carlo Jans on flute and Katrin Reifenrath on piano call out to each other in Ian Clark’s lyrical Hypnosis while percussion accompanies the flute in Mike Mower’s Three Journeys for Three. A dialogue between the flute and vibraphone embodie Barbara Kolb’s Homage to Keith Jarrett and Gary Burton while Gary Greisch gives a captivating rendition of Nikita Koshkin’s Three Stops on the Road for solo guitar followed by Musiques populaires brésiliennes for flute, guita , percussion and bass played by famous Afro-Brazilian musician Celso Machado. Finally, Claude Bolling’s Suite No.2 for flute and jazz piano trio, a blend of jazz and classical music, brings this flute extravaganza to a close.
