This major exhibition is a journey through three Western European countries of yesteryear. 17th-century Holland confers portraits, landscapes, genre art and still lifes. Meanwhile, the Italians bestow us with their marble statues, Venetian veduta, landscape and portraiture. Lastly, 19th-century France offers a series of landscapes and portraits. The collection traces the careers of influential figures such as Dutchmen Brueghel the Younger, Jan Steen and Jacob van Ruisdael, Italians Lorenzo Nencini and Canaletto, and French artists Camille Corot, Gustave Courbet and Eugène Delacroix. There is also a space for temporary displays and a room devoted to 19th-century seascapes.
