Les Théâtres de la Ville

The performance season at the Théâtres de la Ville may have come to an abrupt end, but that doesn’t mean theatre lovers have had to go without. While waiting to make up for lost time with the release of the programme for the 2020-2021 season, the Théâtres de la Ville are making recordings of plays available via the Youtube platform, with the #theaterdoheem (‘theatre at home’) channel allowing viewers to relive different highlights of previous seasons every week. Every Saturday and for a period of one week, a new play is posted online to be enjoyed free of charge from the comfort of your own sofa. Marivaux’s Le Jeu de l’amour et du hasard and Wystan Hugh Auden and Benjamin Britten’s musical Funeral blues, the missing cabaret have been available to the public since the beginning of the crisis, and the initiative has already proven to be a success.
