The Service Canalisation (Sewer Department), which manages the city’s sewer network and water treatment plant, has adapted the way its three teams work. To ensure the smooth running of the treatment plant, its 20 or so employees work according to a rota system of three smaller teams, which also reduces the risk of people coming into close contact with others. The Maintenance and Intervention Department, which employs around 30 people, primarily deals with urgent works and major requests. Preventive maintenance has been reduced to what is strictly necessary. Finally, employees in the technical and administrative office are working from home. The Service Canalisation is continuing to respond to calls from individuals thanks to its on-call service (e.g. urgent works during the night).
