Following the government’s announcement of measures to halt the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) throughout the country, and in order to protect residents, visitors and people who come to the city every day to work, as well as City staff, the college of aldermen was proactive in implementing these measures.
We are acutely aware that this is an exceptional situation that requires exceptional measures. With this in mind, I am asking for your understanding and your help to put all these measures into practice. Covid-19 concerns each and every one of us, but please rest assured that the City of Luxembourg will do everything it can to overcome this situation and ensure that basic services are provided at all times. Residents will still be able to contact the City’s various departments for administrative purposes. However, we kindly ask that online services be used as much as possible. Needless to say, we will continue to collect household waste and keep the city clean, as well as make every effort to ensure that public transport runs smoothly.
Our main objective is to limit the spread of the virus and protect the general public. In order to do so, all of the City’s schools, crèches, foyers scolaires, sports facilities and cultural institutions are closed until further notice, and all public festivities and events have been cancelled or postponed.
