Scout forever!

On Friday 4 October 2019, more than 3,000 scouts gathered together at the municipal park in the city of Luxembourg to witness His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume make his scout promise.

In scouting, the promise is a solemn commitment made by all members, promising to keep to scout law and share the values of the scouting community.

His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume took over the role of his late grandfather, the Grand Duke Jean, in the presence of the Luxembourg scout community, as well as representatives from the World Organisation of the Scout Movement and the World Scout Foundation. The Grand Duke Jean made his scout promise on 28 October 1945 and was an exemplary chief scout for 74 years.
