An unmissable date in the diary for young creative talents, the TalentLAB gives artists an opportunity to develop their projects in a supportive and interactive environment. This year’s 10-day event will consist of an exciting creative whirlwind of workshops, talks and performances that author & actor Chris Thorpe will be kicking off with a four-hour masterclass at the Théâtre des Capucins on 1 June before taking to the stage in Status on 5. Director Cédric Eeckhout, meanwhile, will be showcasing the progress he has made to date with his production of The Quest, to be performed on 2 June at Cercle Cité, whilst a one-off 3 du Trois will be held on 3 June and feature performances of two current choreographic research pieces, namely Vidal Bini’s Morituri (créer est un combat) and Anne-Mareike Hess’ A Dreaming Practice, prior to a performance of Désobéir, by Julie Berès. I C O N, by Atelier Bildraum, will be back at the Grand Théâtre on 4 June following an initial performance in January, whilst choreographer Alexander Vantournhout will be holding a workshop focusing on the body and incorporating elements of dance and circus performance on 5 June. The round table will focus on the various relationships that exist between the performing arts and the field of research, and will be held at the Théâtre des Capucins on 5 June. The studio at the Grand Théâtre, meanwhile, will be hosting Alexander Vantournhout and his production Red Haired Men, representing the very essence of what TalentLAB aims to achieve, for the very first time on 6 June. The event will conclude on 7 and 8 June as the stars of the future take to the stage to showcase their talents.
