Un Instant

Summarising the 3,000 pages of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time in under two hours was a challenge that Jean Bellorini and Camille de la Guillonnière weren’t afraid to face. The pair, who were no strangers to this sort of exercise having already tackled Les Misérables and The Brothers Karamazov, like to take the most charming moments of these sagas and portray them through a minimalist production that accentuates the texts as few others have ever done. Un Instant immortalises on stage those passages from In Search of Lost Time in which Proust remembers his childhood, his mother and his grandmother, with that sweet melancholy that has become the hallmark of this global literary masterpiece.
