What’s the Téléthon about?
The Téléthon first aired in France in 1987, and is a huge event to raise money for genetic disorders and neuromuscular diseases, rare diseases don’t often receive much attention from states or
the pharmaceutical industry.
What’s on the line-up?
Events are organised throughout the country by Lions Clubs and individual fundraisers. It all kicks off with an opening concert on 7 December at the Conservatoire.
Where does the money raised go?
The money raised from the Téléthon goes to the ALAN association, helping those affected by rare diseases in Luxembourg. Funds raised also go towards helping find cures for genetic disorders, cystic fibrosis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and cancer.
