Extension at Merl school

The primary school has inaugurated an extension, comprising a new east-facing wing
of the main building, with a surface area of around 860 m2. The extension, designed by Teisen & Giesler, a local architecture practice, consists of three volumes of differing heights with bare concrete façades both outside and in the classrooms. The school has gained four new classrooms of 64 m2, two small classrooms of 29 m2, a staff room, toilets and a utility room. In addition to this, a number
of repairs were carried out on the existing building. The brief called for a building with
a low energy consumption as well as the use of ecological materials.
